Álula was an idea that sparkled with every journey. So inspired by countless experiences, anecdotes, and memories —and using design as a starting point— Álula grew out of the desire to portray the travel experience in a creative and beautiful way. That’s how Álula Magazine came to life, due to the insatiable desire to see the world through design, art, architecture, gastronomy, and all the beauty found in the travel experience.

The word alula means “the smallest set of feathers in birds’ wings.” For us, this winglet aims to represent the desire to explore, to discover. It symbolizes our interest in flying to beautiful places and learning new things. Through Álula Magazine we’d like to create a space for all the diverse voices in the travel world. Therefore, our main goal is to inspire meaningful travel by creating a beautifully curated magazine. This is our invitation to stay curious while traveling and learning about design, culture, and much more. It’s a joy to have you join us!

Áinee Álamo Ávila, Founder & Editor
Creative by heart and spontaneous traveler, Áinee is a Creative Designer with years of experience in travel and working with global teams. She has lived, studied, and work abroad on several occasions. Switzerland, Japan, and Italy, and all the many places visited in between.
Her background in Industrial, Graphic, Editorial, and Interior Design, and Architecture, along with her deep interest in foreign cultures, languages, and travel became the basis and inspiration for creating Álula Magazine. Áinee is fueled by her passion for traveling through the senses, with a keen eye for detail, and searching for design aesthetics and emotional beauty in every trip. Her goal with Álula is to share this perspective on travel, through different stories, people, and experiences.
